About explorations in stillness
Explorations in Stillness is a contemplative meditation practice devoted to healing suffering and awakening to our essential nature. Rooted in both ancient wisdom traditions and contemporary understandings of the human nervous system, this work invites a direct, embodied experience of wholeness—one that includes mind, body, heart, and spirit.
Through meditation and contemplative inquiry, participants are gently guided to meet life as it is, to transform habitual patterns of suffering, and to rediscover the peace and freedom that are already present within them. Rather than striving toward an ideal state, Explorations in Stillness supports a natural unfolding—where stillness reveals what has never been absent, and wholeness becomes a lived reality in everyday life.
vision
A world in which every person lives with a felt sense of wholeness— where people experience themselves as inherently healthy, connected, and at home in mind, body, and spirit.
Mission
Through meditation and contemplative inquiry, Explorations in Stillness invites people to meet and transform suffering, awaken to their essential nature—the sacred mystery underlying all of life—and discover the peace and freedom that exist innately within them.
founder’s note
Explorations in Stillness arose from a simple and lifelong inquiry: What is it that is already whole, even in the midst of suffering?
After decades of practice, study, and teaching, I’ve discovered that true healing and awakening do not come through effort or self-improvement, but from learning how to rest deeply into the stillness that underlies all experience.
This work is an invitation to pause, to listen, and to discover what remains when striving falls away. Again and again, I have witnessed that when we meet ourselves with openness and kindness, something profound reveals itself—a sense of wholeness, peace, and freedom that is not created, but remembered. Explorations in Stillness is offered in the spirit of this remembering.
